Product principle:

Malaria is a kind of acute parasitic disease caused by plasmodium infection and severely impairing human health. There are four types of plasmodium, including Plasmodium vivax (P. vivax), Plasmodium falciparum (P. falciparum), Plasmodium malariae (P. malariae) and Plasmodium ovale (P. ovale). Global infections are dominated by P. vivax and P. falciparum.

Malaria Rapid Test Kit can be applied to detectspecific P. falciparum lactate dehydrogenase (pLDH) and HRP Ⅱ antigens generated by P. vivax, making use of the immune colloidal gold technique anddouble-antibody sandwich assay. 

During detection, when a sample contains P. falciparum- or P. vivax-specific antigen, Malaria Rapid Test Kit may react to the labeled antibody to generate complexes; the generated complexes will migrate forward to the detection zone along the nitrocellulose membrane under the chromatographic effect and be captured by the antibody on the nitrocellulose membrane, forming a red reaction line respectively in detection zones T1 and T2, which indicates that the result is positive for P. falciparum or P. vivax. If a sample contains no plasmodium antigen, no red band shall emerge in the detection zone, indicating that the result is negative. No matter whether a sample contains the substance under test or not, a red band may emerge in the C quality control zone.

Product purpose:

This Malaria Rapid Test Kit can be applied to rapidly detect if there exists plasmodium infection in vivo and the types of plasmodiuminfected using specific antigens generated by different types of plasmodium as target antigens. It applies to on-site rapid screening in hospitals, epidemic station, blood stations and frontiers.
